4. Cropped Thumbnails

Gallery styles in FotoBilder can use different thumbnail settings to produce a specific effect, like using a grid of 100x100 thumbnails all centered around a large 'preview' image. For this, FotoBilder offers four crop settings:

Figure 1.1. Image and Crop Region

None (default)

In most cases, thumbnails will simply scale down to fit the thumbnail dimensions, keeping the picture's original aspect ratio

Figure 1.2. Default Thumbnail

Crop

Cropped (using the exact crop region), then scaled down to fit in the thumbnail dimensions using the crop region aspect ratio.

Figure 1.3. Cropped Thumbnail

Stretch

Stretched exactly to the thumbnail dimensions using the crop region.

Figure 1.4. Stretched Thumbnail

Zoom

Using the crop region's focus point, zoomed thumbnails will use the thumbnail's dimensions and fill the thumbnail with the proper aspect-ratio.

Figure 1.5. Zoomed Thumbnail

and two thumbnail color settings:

Grey scale

Picture colors are set to grey scale for thumbnail image

Figure 1.6. Grey Scale Thumbnail Default

Negate
The thumbnail will use the inverse of the picture's colors

In summary, with a crop region & focus point, different galleries can all share the same crop/focus data and still have very different looking thumbnails.
